Emilija Angelovska, Jade Miller and Ysabel Fernandez, believe that the City of Calgary and its citizens need public space that allows for freedom of expression, builds community, and inspires random acts of kindness. The project, YYC Warm Fuzzies, provided the space for those in the area to do just so during Calgary’s PARK(ing) Day on September 15, 2017. Park(ing) Day was started in 2005 by John Bela, Blaine Merker and Matthew Passmore, in downtown San Francisco, when they rented out a parking space and 'installed' a park. Currently, many cities around the world participate in Park(ing) Day, turning it into a global phenomenon.
